The HICEEC Welcome Centre at the Farmers' Market, Summer Season

Local Ambassadors host the Summer Welcome Centre at the Farmers' Market.

Located at the entrance to the market, the Centre provides information, and the host answers questions, for visitors to the Market and locals attending, too. Information ranges from handing out non-profit brochures, to alerting visitors to Island safety issues (fire, parking, speeding, dogs, etc.), to passing on details of "what's happening?". Our motto is "service with a smile".

As part of the services, HICEEC contributes to cost of providing available outhouses for the use of market goers. The Market Lost 'n' Found is also located in this kiosk.

Hornby Island Ambassador Program

“Aims to build a strong and healthy community, encouraging a positive attitude among responsible citizens, improving community relations with visitors, and growing support for the diversity and well-being of area businesses.”

Who is the program for? All local residents including seasonal staff, newcomers, and business owners. All local residents new and old are welcome to participate in this great, free initiative to expand their knowledge of the area and increase their participation in the community.
